Quit "exercising" and try this instead

Sometimes when I ruminate on what the next newsletter will be I’ll have one idea in mind, for days, and then it will manifest into a different topic altogether.  Like last week, I was primarily thinking about physical well-being and in the end I unintentionally wrote about mindfulness again. (After all, one can’t really do without the other.)

Some weeks, inspiration suddenly visits me and this week’s Inspiration is with a capital I!

Thanks to Aubrie I have a new favorite website: NutritiousMovement.com

The author, Katy Bowman, a movement educator, noticed that she was teaching her clients exercises that used to occur naturally in everyday life.  She figured out if she created more space in her home by removing some of the furniture, full body movement would happen more frequently.  Full body, natural movement such as getting up and down from the floor, squatting, bending and reaching. You know, kind of how we all used to move as kids but stopped because well, we grew up and then forgot how to move.

Food and nutrition isn’t the only way to pursue health. Movement is an absolute necessity too.  If you don’t think you have the time or are not interested in exercise then the article I’m sharing today is absolutely for you.

Why I Went Furniture Free
From NutritiousMovement.com, by Katy Bowman

I’m not saying go furniture free but I am saying that Bowman’s suggestions for how to facilitate more natural human movement in everyday life is a no brainer.  Please enjoy!
